We are big on trust, quality, relationships, and responsive communication with clients. We are output driven and offer an environment that encourages collaboration, professional development, and innovation.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Civil Engineer is a critical position at EBH, managing a portfolio of various sized projects from start to finish and working to grow the scope and scale of the business.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a recent P. Eng with 4+ years of practical experience to fast-track and boost their career. We would also welcome applications from senior engineers who are looking for a change and want to join an innovative and growing company.
Key responsibilities in this role include:

- Complete engineering design for residential and commercial land development, municipal infrastructure, and environmental services projects using Autodesk Civil 3D, Storm, and Sanitary Sewer, and other industry-standard applications.
- This may include engineering design for sanitary, storm, and water system infrastructure, stormwater management, street construction, site grading, active transportation infrastructure, and sediment and erosion control drawings, and specifications.
- At Engineering by Houghton, we are big on gaining a comprehensive understanding of existing conditions to deliver cost-effective, construction-friendly designs that add value and reduce risk.
- Spend time in the field and on worksites to understand the existing topography, identify and record municipal infrastructure, underground utilities, and other key features. Oversee construction activities and meet with clients and contractors to ensure designs are implemented successfully.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with municipal, provincial and national engineering design standards on all projects.
Qualifications:

- Registered P.Eng with APEGNB or equivalent
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in civil engineering or construction

- Strong project management skills and experience – able to plan holistically and see interconnections, impact and mitigation
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
